Tenders are the payment methods available in the Summon app, offering operators flexibility and accuracy in managing transactions. They include manual and online payment options to suit operational needs.
Supported Tender Types
Cash
- How it works: Customers pay cash directly to the valet or designated staff.
- Operator process: Payments are manually marked as paid in the app for accurate tracking.
- Use case: Ideal for locations or customers preferring physical payments.
Front Desk
- How it works: Payments are processed by front desk personnel, often for centralized operations.
- Operator process: Staff update the ticket manually in the app.
- Use case: Best for hotels and larger venues with central payment stations.
Online Payments
Customers complete transactions digitally within the Summon app, ensuring a seamless experience without being redirected to external payment pages.

Payment Pricing Breakdown
Every online payment processed through Summon includes two fees:
- Summon Fee: $0.10 per transaction.
- Stripe Fee: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
Operators can offset these costs by configuring convenience fees, ensuring seamless and cost-effective payment processing.
How to Configure Tenders
- Access Tender Settings: Go to Locations > Select a Location > Settings > Payments > Tenders.
- Enable Tender Types: Toggle the tender options you want to activate (e.g., cash, front desk, or online).
- Save Changes: Confirm and save your configuration to make the tender options available for that location.
How Transactions Appear
Transaction Logging
- Each payment is logged under the ticket with details on the tender type used.
- Online payments include the Stripe Transaction ID for secure and efficient reconciliation.
Payment Status
- Payments are displayed as Paid or Unpaid and updated in real time.
Adjustments and Refunds
- Operators can issue full refunds or remove convenience fees during checkout if necessary.
Operator Control & Reporting
Operators manage tender preferences through the app, enabling tailored payment methods for their business. Reporting tools provide insights into revenue by tender type, payment trends, and transaction histories, helping refine operations and financial management.
